RFC 6434 - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Glossary
Requests for Comments 6434 deals with the node requirements for IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) and was originally published in 2011. RFC 6434 defines common functions that are required by both IPv6 routers and hosts.
This document is important as it allowed IPv6 to successfully function and be implemented in a large range of different environments and situations. A node is defined as any device that uses IPv6 therefore this document can apply to a huge range of situations. Main features of the document are methods of transmission, security, router functionality, network management and useful API’s.
