Psiphon (pronounced Siphon) is a piece of censorship circumvention technology that uses a combination of VPN (Virtual Private Network), SSH (Secure Shell) and HTTP Proxy.
Psiphon has the express aim of providing uncensored internet access to those people who live in countries where online censorship is actively implemented. The Psiphon project is composed of three piece of software including a tunneling system, a proxy system, and a server software. The software has seen much development over the years and the Psiphon Inc. business have worked with numerous corporations in the past and even developed a mobile app in 2012 for use on smartphones.
