Publication ban - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Encyclopedia
A publication ban will be a legal ban against a certain form of media, mainly printed media such as newspapers, magazines or flyers.
A publication ban may be carried out to stop the distribution of a piece of media that an organization or government deems to be inappropriate or illegal. Examples of publication bans could include extremely explicit pornographic material, publications that glorify acts of terrorism, or publications that promote an illegal action like drug taking or crime. The ban will prevent the media from being distributed to the public in any way, and if the ban is violated it could result in legal action being taken and be considered as a crime.
