Physical Security Interoperability Alliance - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Glossary

This is a global consortium containing more than 65 security manufacturers that concentrates on the interoperability of IP security devices and devices across the physical system of the internet and networks.

The PSIA works to create specifications for use in physical network security, including security for data storage, intrusions, video and analytics. The standards created help businesses produce products that allow equipment to connect without issues and transfer data such as Bluetooth and USB. Specifications that PSIA have developed include the PSIA Common Security Model v.1.0, IP Media Device Specification 1.1, Video Analytics Specification v1.0 and the PSIA Area Control Specification V1.0. Any specification created by PSIA is developed using collaboration and a strict vetting process.
