MAFIAAFire Redirector - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Glossary

This is a form of censorship circumvention that helps website owners bypass government blocking on domains. The redirector is a downloadable extension of the Firefox and Chrome browsers developed by Mozilla and was created in 2012.

The extension allows users to register their domain name with Mozilla; after the domain has been registered a mirror of the website will then be created on the MAFIAAFire website - If said website is blocked for whatever reason, when the domain is accessed or typed into a web-browser, the user will be redirected to the mirror version of the website hosted by the MAFIAAFire website. There have been instances where the US government has requested that MAFIAAFire is taken down; however as of 2016 it still exists.
