Freedom of speech - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Encyclopedia
Freedom of speech is an ideal and a notion that any individual has the right as a human to voice their opinions and thoughts on any given subject without fear of retribution from the government or other individuals and organizations.
The notion of free speech has been heralded and debated throughout history and many countries have laws and acts that protect an individual's freedom of speech. A general consensus on the limitations of freedom of speech has never been agreed as invariably there will be disagreements. There are those who feel that there should be no limitations on out freedom of speech, while there are others who feel that some degree of control is required for the good of the people.
