Extensible Thread Management (XTM) is a type of unified threat management that adds additional security features and also extensive control for such things as network bandwidth, dynamic routing, load balancing, traffic shaping, VoIP and VPN networks.
The UTM system integrates a range of network security features including firewalls, anti-virus and intrusion detection; Extensible Threat Management builds on this and seeks to include better networking features. UTM and XTM are considered high-performance industry networking security platforms and are widely used by many businesses and corporations.
