Darknet market - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Encyclopedia
A Darknet Market is a website that can be found on the dark web that is used as a marketplace for different products, often black market items like drugs, weapons, counterfeit currency and forged documents.
The market websites will operate much in the same way as auction and selling sites do like EBay and Amazon and provide customers ratings, feedback and advanced search tools. Darknet markets have evolved since their inception from fairly basic websites with limited functionality, to highly advanced platforms that allow you to easily sell and buy goods. While there are normal products sold on Darknet Markets, the majority are illegal and the most widely sold product is drugs of various forms.
