The Arab Spring was a period of history starting in 2010 that saw a large amount of riots, revolts, protests, demonstrations and civil wars in the Arab world noticeably the replacements of governments by force in Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt and Syria.

This huge change in the political and cultural landscape of the middle east radically changed the global climate and resulted in many deaths and protracted conflicts. Social media was said to have played a large part in broadcasting the demonstrations and protests, and allowing many more people to contribute - It is reported that in some countries, the use of social media doubled during the protests and the public were able to use such mediums as Facebook and Twitter to their advantage.
