The FPF is an organization that aims to support and fund free speech and freedom of the press.
This non-profit organization includes some well-known journalists such as Laura Poitras and Glenn Greenwald and also ex-NSA Edward Snowden. The organizations mission aims at funding public-interest journalism and exposing unlawful governments and businesses. The FPF manages several crowdfunding events in conjunction with Wikileaks to raise funds and has also helped raise funds for various software programs and tools that aid in data encryption such as the NSA (National Security Archive), Truthout, Tails and the Tor Network. The organization has been involved in many legal cases, helped fund legal advice for several whistleblowers and also received several awards.
