SPEAK FREE Act of 2015 - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Encyclopedia

This is an act passed by congress in the United States of America that was developed to protect people against SLAPP lawsuits and to protect their freedom of speech.

SLAPP lawsuits are often used to try and stop critics from speaking out against a certain business, process or person. These kinds of lawsuits are seen as blight against our freedom of speech and there have been many attempts to have them abolished. The Speak Free Act aims to provide people with the means to create a special motion to dismiss these lawsuits in the right circumstance. The act can mainly be used to dismiss lawsuits that have been issued to simply harass people and dissuade them from voicing their valid opinion.
