The NSA or National Security Agency is an American government agency primarily concerned with national security, intelligence collection and monitoring and signals intelligence.

The NSA has been operating since 1952 and has a long history of intelligence expertise - Much of their movements, work and operations are classified and their true number of employees and budget remains unknown to the public. Intelligence collection methods include passive electronic collection and also clandestine methods such as bugging and sabotage. The NSA has origins in WWI and has had some form of involvement in many global occurrences including the Vietnam War, The Watergate Scandal and the more recent War on Terror.
