The JASBUG was a Microsoft Windows O/S based bug that affected the security of devices using Windows operating systems, the bug was revealed in 2015.
The bug has been known to affect many previous versions of Windows OS dating back to the 2000’s and Windows Vista. JASBUG is a vulnerability that can be exploited to allow attackers to remotely control Windows devices that are connected to an Active Directory Domain.
The bug reportedly takes advantage of the Group Policy feature, but is generally only applicable to business and government devices as personal computers do not use domain-configuration. As JASBUG was a design issue, Microsoft had to re-create some components of their operating systems in order to provide a stable bugfix.
