Deletionism and inclusionism in Wikipedia - Definition from the Hotspot Shield Glossary

These are two differing viewpoints on the content of Wikipedia and how it should be monitored, edited and presented to the public. As Wikipedia is an Glossary that has input from the public, there has to be strict processes for reviewing the information and to ensure its accuracy and authenticity.

The Deletionism approach to Wikipedia argues that only relevant and expansive content should be included, and any “stubs” (short articles with little content) should be deleted. Counter to this approach, the inclusionism theory argues that any information at all is more beneficial than nothing, and everything should be included, even articles that have little content or need to be built upon and filled with factual evidence.
